Set up API access - Huawei FusionSolar API

This article describes how to set up and share the PV data of your Huawei solar system through the Solytic API interface.

For Solytic to access data from the FusionSolar API, we need the access details for your sites in the FusionSolar portal. The following is a step by step guide on how to set up third-party access. This will enable Solytic to retrieve data from your installations within the FusionSolar portal, using  the API interface.

Please note:

As the total number of data queries to the FusionSolar API is calculated per system/user and is subject to strict limitations, it may happen that the data for some systems is updated less frequently or - if the limit is exceeded - that no data for a system can be retrieved. We therefore recommend creating a separate account for each system in the FusionSolar portal in order to take the limitations into account and maintain regular data synchronization.

The following steps are carried out in the FusionSolar portal:

  1. Log in to the FusionSolar portal as a company administrator, select System > Company Management > Northbound Management, and then click on Add.

  2. Provide the following information in the pop-up window:

    • System Name: Choose the plant designation as the system name
    • Deadline: Select the time when the data provisioning via the API interface should end
    • Interface Status: Set the status to on
    • Associated ...: Choose the plant that needs to be integrated into Solytic
    • Username: Enter the email address associated with the account of the respective plant and manually append the username with .api
    • Password: Enter the password for the account of the respective plant

Below the dialog box, look for Interface Name Plant List and set the status to on. Then, select the corresponding plant from the dropdown menu and confirm with OK.

  3. Now, for the plant, select Operation (pencil icon on the right side of the bar) to grant data retrieval permissions. Release the plant components by individually selecting all options for each device in the pop-up window. To ensure a complete representation in Solytic, make sure all permissions have been granted and confirm with OK.

  4. Create the plant in Solytic and add a new data source.

When adding the data source, select the connection type Huawei FusionSolar API and enter your access credentials for the FusionSolar portal in the connection settings. Also, manually append the username similarly to the setting in the FusionSolar portal with .api.

The plant ID is part of the URL for the respective plant in the FusionSolar portal. Navigate to the plant overview there, copy the Port NE=12345 from the URL, and add it as the plant ID in Solytic.

  5. The settings for data transmission interval and data delay may vary due to the limitations of the Huawei FusionSolar API. Therefore, we recommend a transmission interval of 24 hours, and the data delay can remain open. For individual determination of these details, feel free to contact support@solytic.com.
