This article describes how to grant Solytic access to your GoodWe SEMS installations through the GoodWe SEMS API.
To grant Solytic access to your GoodWe installations through the GoodWe SEMS API and display the data in Solytic monitoring, please follow these steps:
Step 1) SEMS account required
- To access the GoodWe SEMS API, you need a SEMS account (with username/email address and password). If you do not have a SEMS account yet, you must first create one.
Step 2) Request API access
- To obtain API access, please send a request to GoodWe. It is best to contact your GoodWe sales representative who sold you the hardware.
Step 3) Sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
- After receiving your request, GoodWe will send you a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Please sign and return this agreement to GoodWe.
Step 4) API access enabled
- Upon receipt of the signed NDA, GoodWe will enable API permission for your SEMS account.
- In addition to your SEMS account (email address and password), you do not need any further access data to use the API.
- If you need support after activating the API permission, please contact GoodWe After-Sales Support (https://en.goodwe.com/contact-us).
Step 5) Configure the data source
- Navigate to Site > Configuration > Datasources.
- Click on "Add Datasource" and select "GoodWe API".
- Enter the required information:
- Username: Email address of the SEMS account
- Password (non-encrypted): Solytic performs MD5 encryption dynamically according to GoodWe recommendations before accessing the API. So please enter the non-encrypted password.
- Plant ID:
- You can retrieve the required plant ID of your plant by logging into the SEMS portal: https://www.semsportal.com/.
- After logging in, you will see the ID in your URL, e.g.: https://www.semsportal.com/powerstation/PowerStatusSnMin/12345678-1234-123-1234-123456789012
- In this example, the plant ID is: 12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789012
- Enter a name for the datasource and click "Add datasource".
After saving the data source, Solytic will try to access the GoodWe API to retrieve PV data. If the information provided is correct, Solytic will retrieve PV data from the GoodWe API, automatically create devices in Solytic Monitoring and display the data. The duration of this initial process and subsequent updates depends on the number of plants, devices and API calls already in use with the provided GoodWe API account credentials, as GoodWe automatically sets a limit of 3600 API calls per hour per GoodWe API account.
